Jerry Sanders to head San Diego Chamber of Commerce.

San Diego’s outgoing mayor, Jerry Sanders, has been chosen to be the next president and CEO of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Sanders will begin his new duties beginning December 4, the day after San Diego’s newly elected mayor, Bob Filner, takes office. In a news conference held November 8 at Embarcadero Marina Park, Sanders affirmed that the expansion of the San Diego Convention Center and improvement of the Otay Mesa border crossing will be two of his most important priorities. According to local news reports, he will also continue the push for a new Chargers stadium.
