It might be hard to believe, but according to the Small Business Administration, fifty percent of a small retail company’s business can be attributed to its signage.
First impressions are extremely important. People who observe a sign outside a business will immediately infer the quality and function of that business. A sign’s visual design and condition are the two factors that most influence passing consumers. Their experience of a business or a brand begins at the front door.
Are signs vibrant, distinctive, clear and inviting? Are they dull, nondescript, dirty or worn out?
It’s important to have at least one high quality company sign that can be easily seen from the street. Signs in windows should augment the appeal of a business; they shouldn’t obstruct important views or create clutter. Signs inside the business should be similarly appealing, and they should conform stylistically with exterior signage.
